Watkins College of Art
Website / Lookbook / Publications
Watkins is a vital independent art, design, and film college in Nashville, Tennessee. While the school was recently renovated, its communication materials lagged behind. In collaboration with a superstar team of strategists, photographers, writers, and developers, Stoltze designed fresh collateral, including a responsive, easily managed website, and an exuberant 60-page lookbook. We created pieces that took cues from editorial design, photography, and storytelling rather than the traditional educational sphere. Section titles “Seek, Work, Reveal” incorporate the creative process into the organization of both the website and the lookbook.
Watkins.edu is highly visual and dynamic, but supplies the robust function needed by students, faculty, and staff. It remains clean and easily navigable, and embodies the goals to integrate brand and messaging, inspire prospective students, and boost admissions.
In the lookbook, Watkins’ story is told through features with bold imagery, rich texture, directional shifts, and dramatic typography. In print and online, the pieces showcase an exceptional community of artists, designers, and filmmakers in one of America’s coolest cities. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
