New England Public Radio and WGBY Public Television have joined forces to create a robust new multi-media organization, New England Public Media. With four digital TV channels, two radio networks, and a powerful digital presence, NEPM delivers locally produced journalism, music, cultural and educational programming, and top-quality content from PBS and NPR.
NEPM contracted Stoltze Design, in partnership with content provider Libretto and sound designer Ned Porter, to create branding for the Springfield-based organization that included both visual and sound identity as well as a comprehensive messaging platform to be used across a broad array of media platforms. The all new visual identity incorporates a customized play button to reference all things digital with a clean type treatment that is contemporary and friendly, and includes a system for sub-branding its various programs and offerings. The color palette combines fresh interpretations of the original organization’s branding that play well with PBS and NPR’s branding.
